IMS says the basic mobile portal application provides access for the program’s PC-based portal via a user’s smartphone, enabling real-time driving feedback and other portal content. The UBI application captures a base level of data using a smartphone gateway and offers a fast, economical way to enter the UBI market with no start-up hardware costs. A connected UBI application provides value-added premium services to customers, which will allow insurers to explore new streams of revenue for their business as well. The mobile applications are components in end-to-end UBI solutions offered by IMS.
