GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Jefferson Pilot Financial, one of the nation's leading providers of universal and variable universal life insurance and fixed annuities, recently expanded its continuing education program for insurance agents with five new courses of study.

The new courses, Group Life Carveout, Life Insurance Professional Analysis and Review, Successful Retirement Planning, Prosperity Found in Indexed Annuities, and Single Premium Immediate Annuities (SPIAs) in Action, are part of a program that provides agents with ongoing training in areas such as wealth accumulation, wealth preservation and business planning. Other courses include: Comparing the Family Limited Partnership (FLP) and the Irrevocable Life Insurance Trust (ILIT); Linking Generations; Making Sense of Change; Non-qualified Deferred Compensation; and Simplified Estate Planning Following the Tax Act.

Bill Seawell, Senior Vice President - Marketing, said the new programs were developed to give Jefferson Pilot Financial's field partners more resources to expand into additional niche marketing areas. "Jefferson Pilot Financial's flexible Continuing Education program is designed to offer our field management, producer organizations and insurance agents value-added training that can also serve as a valuable recruiting tool," Seawell said.
The program also provides insurance agents with continuing education credits, which are required by most states.

Jefferson-Pilot Corporation, a holding company, is one of the nation's largest shareholder-owned life insurance companies.  Jefferson Pilot's life insurance and annuity companies, principally Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance Company, Jefferson Pilot Financial Insurance Company, and Jefferson Pilot LifeAmerica Insurance Company, together known as Jefferson Pilot Financial, offer full lines of individual and group life insurance products as well as annuity and investment products.
