Liberty International UnderwritersTakes Pollution Cleanup Mobile

Liberty International Underwriters, a commercial insurance subsidiary of of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has teamed up with Spill Center to offer policyholders a new mobile app designed to improve response times to pollution events.

The new app, Liberty One Timely Accident Preparedness (TAP), was originally an online tool developed by Spill Center to help customers manage hazardous materials, chemicals and initiate spill response.

Now offered for the first time as a mobile app, Liberty customers have access to 3,000 cleanup contractors around the clock. Liberty One TAP also enables users to control the activation of their emergency plans, create and manage internal alert communications and report claims easier, the companies said.

“To ensure we are delivering services when and where our customers want them, we are working closely with companies like Spill Center to offer technology-driven options that drive down costs and automate standard business operations,” said William Bell, senior vice president of environmental for Liberty, in a statement.

Tom Moses, president of Spill Center added, “When LIU’s customers use our app, we immediately know who they are and where they are, and we can quickly deploy spill response and reporting resources to support them. A unique aspect of the app is a mobile dashboard that is customized to each customers’ business and is used to distribute alerts and interface with LIU’s in-house team.”
