“Said has a unique combination of expertise in business, insurance and digital,” said Lockton, in a statement. “Not only will Said help us improve Lockton’s business, but he will also help lead change in our industry to deliver a better overall customer experience.”

Taiym joins Lockton by way of AF Group, where he served as chief information officer for the Midwestern-based workers’ compensation carrier since September 2014. He was also previously vice president of XL Catlin and AVP of IT at Zurich North America following his departure from Accenture in 2001.

The executive hire marks Lockton’s first devoted to its technology efforts since the broker hired Mark Moitoso as the company’s SVP and analytics leader in 2015, after a 25-year stint at Liberty Mutual. Justin VanOpdorp, the company’s first chief analytics officer, was also promoted the same day.

In 2016, Lockton, led by the aforementioned hires, deployed AIR Worldwide’s modeling software to help customers monitor thunderstorm exposure. The company also partnered with EigenRisk to implement its CAT analytics software.
