Maureen Phillips Named SVP, General Counsel at OneBeacon

Maureen Phillips is joining specialty lines carrier OneBeacon Insurance Group, Ltd. as its SVP and general counsel, the insurer reports. With a 30-year career primarily in the insurance industry, Phillips, who will report to President and CEO Mike Miller, joins OneBeacon from Allianz Life Insurance, where she served as chief legal officer since 2008.

Phillips’ career also includes senior legal positions at Fairview Health Services and at St. Paul Travelers, where she spent 17 years in positions of increasing responsibility. She earned her juris doctorate from the University of Southern California.

Phillips succeeds Brad Rich, OneBeacon’s current SVP and general counsel, who will continue with the company through the year's end, at which time he will retire.
