What's the origin story of the company?

Cyberbay was founded to address a growing gap in how organizations manage cybersecurity
risk.

While many companies invest heavily in security tools and compliance programs, they often
lack continuous visibility into their real-world cyber exposure. As a result, organizations
frequently struggle to translate technical security findings into meaningful business risk
decisions.

Cyberbay was established with the vision of creating a proactive cybersecurity ecosystem that
combines automation, threat intelligence and human expertise to help organizations move
beyond reactive defense toward continuous cyber resilience.

By making cybersecurity measurable, understandable and actionable, Cyberbay enables both
technical teams and business leaders to better understand, prioritize and manage cyber risk.

When was it founded and/or when was the product launched?

Cyberbay was founded in 2022 as an Asia-Pacific cybersecurity startup focused on proactive
cyber exposure management and continuous risk intelligence.

The company initially launched its Bug Bounty platform, enabling organizations to identify
real-world vulnerabilities through a global community of vetted ethical hackers.

Building on this foundation, Cyberbay has expanded into a broader proactive cybersecurity
ecosystem addressing multiple dimensions of cyber risk — including technology risk, human
risk, governance and cyber-exposure intelligence.

Can you tell me about the founders/founding team?

Cyberbay was founded by Felix Kan, a cybersecurity leader with more than 15 years of
experience in ethical hacking, cyber consulting and governance advisory.

Before founding Cyberbay, Felix was a Partner at PwC in Hong Kong, where he helped
organizations strengthen their cybersecurity posture through penetration testing, cyber risk
advisory and large-scale security transformation programs.

I am also a part of the leadership team. I bring more than 20 years of global leadership experience across cybersecurity, product innovation, marketing and data strategy.

At Cyberbay, I lead strategic growth, product direction and regional expansion initiatives.
I'm working closely with enterprise clients, investors and the broader cybersecurity community.

Any meaning behind the company name?

The name Cyberbay is inspired by the concept of a "bay" as a natural safe harbour — a place
where ships gather for protection, coordination and preparation before heading back into open waters.

In the same way, Cyberbay is designed to serve as a trusted hub where organizations can
assess, strengthen and continuously improve their cybersecurity posture before facing
real-world threats. Ultimately, the name represents Cyberbay's mission to serve as a secure harbour for organizations navigating an increasingly complex cyber-threat landscape.

Where is the company based?

Cyberbay operates across Hong Kong and Singapore, supporting enterprise clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The company maintains strong connections with regional innovation ecosystems and cybersecurity communities as part of its mission to promote proactive cybersecurity practices across APAC.

What pain points is the technology trying to solve?

Cyberbay focuses on addressing several structural challenges organizations face in modern cybersecurity management. Many organizations lack a complete understanding of their external digital footprint and exposed assets. Companies often deploy multiple security solutions, but lack a unified view of their true risk. Meeting regulatory requirements does not always translate into meaningful risk reduction.

Cyberbay addresses these challenges through continuous attack surface monitoring, risk scoring and prioritization, ethical hacker validation, social engineering simulations and executive-level cyber risk visibility.

What funding rounds has the company had?

Cyberbay is a privately held company.

The company has participated in innovation and ecosystem programs, and it continues to explore strategic investment opportunities aligned with its long-term growth strategy.

What's ahead?

Cyberbay's next phase of growth will focus on scaling its proactive cybersecurity ecosystem across Asia-Pacific while advancing intelligence-driven security capabilities.

Cyberbay's long-term vision is to help organizations shift from reactive cybersecurity practices toward predictive, intelligence-driven defense strategies.
