Nationwide hires new CIO from GE

Jim Fowler has been named the next CIO for Nationwide Insurance. He replaces Michael Keller, who announced his retirement this year.

Fowler last was CIO for General Electric, where he was responsible for leading the company's global information technology strategy, services and operations. He was also responsible for the digital transformation program across the GE enterprise.He had been CIO for GE Capital, GE Power and Water, GE Intelligent Platforms, and GE Aviation, as well as CTO for architecture and design at GE Infrastructure, in his time there. Before GE, he held IT roles with NCR and Accenture.

Fowler currently serves on the Information Security Advisory Boards at Miami University and as a national board member for YearUp.
