New York Life’s Shay Named President, Women in Insurance & Financial Services

Angelia Shay, an agent with New York Life’s Richmond General Office, has been named president of Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS). WIFS is an organization for women in the financial services industry.

As president of WIFS, Shay oversees the mission of this organization of 1,000 members and 24 local chapters.

Shay joined New York Life in 1994, says the company, and holds CLU and ChFC professional designations. She is a Life Underwriter Training Council fellow, and in 2005 and 2007, she was named the Agent of the Year by New York Life’s Richmond General Office. She was the first woman in the Richmond General Office of New York Life to receive this sales achievement award. Shay is a financial adviser with Eagle Strategies and is founder and president of The Path Financial Strategies (formerly The Fritter Group).

Shay is one of the women featured in the book "Magnificent Masters in Financial Services: Amazing Women - Sensational Stories," and a contributing writer along with Ms. Sheila Eby in the book titled, "The New Face of Forty: Life in Transition." She also was featured in Ronnie Sellers’ "Forty Things to Do When You Turn Forty."

New York Life says its dedicated to attracting women to the financial services sector, helping them develop their talents and advancing them toward their fullest potentials.
