Ohio Mutual Insurance Group has selected Mileage Discount Analytics, from technology provider True Mileage, for use in Ohio and five other states.

True Mileage now is working with Ohio Mutual’s information systems department to implement the discount analytics program and providing materials to support filings with the Ohio, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Connecticut departments of insurance.

“True Mileage provides a truly unique analytical model that accounts for the key mileage-related rating variables,” said Dave Grove, VP of product management at Ohio Mutual. “Their innovative models allow us to provide equitable discounts across our entire automobile insurance policyholder base, which is a win for our company, our agent partners, and our policyholders.”

Mileage Discount Analytics converts verified mileage from any source into an auto insurance discount, using a national dataset and directly accounts for mileage-associated rating variables, True Mileage said. Ohio Mutual Insurance Group will receive mileage data from Carfax, provider of vehicle history reports for used car buyers, sellers and the automotive industry, and will use True Mileage’s Mileage Discount Analytics to set mileage discounts.
