Progressive Plans Data, IT Hiring Push

Progressive Insurance is planning to hire 1,300 people before the end of the year, and many of the roles are in IT.

The company says it is looking for IT developers, systems engineers, software design engineers and IT managers in its Cleveland and Colorado Springs, Colo. offices. The company also seeks "experienced data analysts" in Cleveland.

"Progressive is looking for software developers and data analysts who will help propel our innovative and growing company forward," says Steve Broz, CIO at Progressive. "Our employees have an opportunity to tackle challenging work and make an impact on millions of customers and claimants, as well as our nearly 30,000 employees."

The insurer is touting its "innovation services" group, as well as its lab, the Business Innovation Garage, in the announcement. New hires will have the opportunity to work on "developing and refining programs such as [usage-based insurance program] Snapshot."

Progressive is also looking for inbound sales and customer service staff, the company says.
