Royal Neighbors of America Celebrates Women

As the nation prepares to celebrate March as Women’s History Month, Royal Neighbors of America, a non-profit fraternal membership organization that offers life insurance, annuities and Medicare supplement products, also has much to celebrate.

One of the nation’s largest women-led life insurance organizations, the firm was founded in 1895 by nine females who saw the need to make insurance available to women, and this year celebrates its 117th birthday.

Further, Royal Neighbors celebrates the accomplishments of its President and CEO, Cynthia A. Tidwell, LLIF, who was honored by the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) as a 2010/2011 Professional Woman of the Year.

Since 2005, Tidwell’s leadership has enabled Royal Neighbors to expand its distribution channel, reinvigorated its community-based volunteerism and philanthropy, and helped steer her organization to record-setting sales in life insurance and annuities.

Insurance Networking News, the NAPW, Royal Neighbors and the organizers of Women’s History month share the promotion of empowerment as a fundamental tenet to women’s leadership issues in the professional sector and beyond. With empowerment the theme for this year’s Women in History Month, the Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum will join in paying tribute to the generations of women whose commitment to nature and the planet have proved invaluable to society.
