AGENCY WEB PORTALNew York-based P&C Insurance Systems Inc. introduced a Web portal that allows direct Web-based upload of ACORD data from agency management software. The portal leverages the architecture of the PCIS management system to provide Web-based multi-line rating, real-time agency access to quote documents, and up-to-date agency production reports.

INFOGIX ENHANCES CONTROLSINSIGHT

Infogix, Naperville, Ill., enhanced the compliance features of its ControlsInsight product, which provides a real-time, "dashboard" view of the vendor's automated information controls. The enhancement will help business professionals, IT professionals and auditors view real-time status and results of information controls, create personalized views based on their roles and responsibilities, identify and document trends by quickly reviewing validated information from a variety of information controls, and deploy and maintain an enterprise solution for viewing control deployments, status and results information, according to the vendor.

ORACLE UNVEILS ORACLE DATABASE VAULT

The increasing need to mitigate insider security threats, coupled with the growing number of regulatory and privacy mandates, have made protecting data against unauthorized access a top priority. To that end, Redwood Shores, Calif-based Oracle Corp. unveiled Oracle Database Vault, which is designed to help its customers secure sensitive information from internal threats and to implement separation-of-duty mandates that require more than one person to complete a sensitive task. The product's flexible security controls also enable customers to implement incremental restrictions on data access even for regular users.

IBM REINFORCES THREAT AND FRAUD PROTECTION

IBM Corp., Armonk, N.Y., has released enhancements to its portfolio of analytics software designed to help clients leverage information as a strategic asset to improve threat detection capabilities and prevent fraud. IBM Entity Analytics Solutions (EAS) 4.1 adds support for five languages-German, French, Spanish, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese-and cultures, enabling global clients in government, banking, health care, insurance and other industries to quickly analyze and compare data stored across information silos and instantly recognize identities and resolve the relationships of parties seeking to perpetrate fraud, abuse or otherwise threaten organizations or society.

MILLIMAN INTRODUCES SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Milliman Inc., a Seattle-based international firm of consultants and actuaries, has introduced Milliman Security Management System (MS2.) The Web-based system provides a practical, scalable and customizable solution to compliance with government security mandates including Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, FFIEC, GLBA and European Union requirements. MS2 also provides a platform and tools for guarding the confidentiality of sensitive data and dealing with the growing threat of identity theft. MS2 encompasses administrative, physical and technical safeguards and includes turnkey administrative, reporting and document management tools. It incorporates and supports generally accepted security protocols-ISO, NIST and CobiT.

E-KNOW INC. LAUNCHES COMPLIANCE EXPRESS SERVICES

Arlington, Va.-based e-know Inc. is offering a new service for corporate customers called the e-know Compliance Express Services. e-know says it will roll out the code of conduct or any other critical policy to the employee population and certify them in two weeks or less. This new service was created in response to demand from customers who realize that risk mitigation is directly related to implementation time. According to e-know CEO Alan Croll, it still takes some companies three months or more to implement a code of conduct compliance initiative. "Even with existing systems and technology, managers still do not have an easy way to disseminate information, collect data and track status. And, without a tight process in place, employees often delay or drop out of the process and no one really knows," he says.

ENTERPRISE SOA PLATFORM

Elixir 2006, a component-based enterprise service-oriented architecture platform, from Edison, N.J.-based MajescoMastek Ltd., is designed to provide a high level of flexibility and control, enabling life and annuity carriers to easily make changes to comply with industry standards and to deliver the right products to market quickly, efficiently, securely and economically. Designed specifically for the insurance industry, the end-to-end Elixir system aims to seamlessly integrate the front office with the back office. Components include point of sale distribution, channel portal, channel compensation and claims processing.

ARCHIVING DOCUMENT IMAGES

EMC Documentum Archive Services for Imaging software from Hopkinton, Mass.-based EMC Corp. provides customers a single, unified archiving platform for collecting, retaining, securing and retrieving all types of document images for compliance and legal discovery, content re-use, improved decision-making and operational efficiency. Documentum Archive Services for Imaging is packaged with EMC Captiva InputAccel document capture software to convert paper documents to electronic images; enable rapid and secure electronic access to stored information within the enterprise; and facilitate enterprisewide search and discovery to eliminate unmanaged archives and minimize document loss.
