Summit Re Hires New VP, Lead Reinsurance Underwriter

Summit Reinsurance Services Inc., a managing underwriter working exclusively with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions to provide medical excess-of-loss coverage to health plans, providers and insurers, has hired Shaun Peterson as VP and lead reinsurance underwriter. Peterson will focus on provider excess-of-loss insurance and health plan excess-of-loss reinsurance as he joins the Summit Re actuarial and underwriting team.

Summit Re says Peterson is a former United Healthcare director of actuarial services. Prior, he was a senior executive with HCC as VP for reinsurance and chief actuary for Perico Life Insurance Co. Peterson has extensive experience in both the insurance and reinsurance markets, Summit Re adds.
