The Phoenix Cos. Inc., an organization offering income strategies and insurance protection to families and individuals planning for or living in retirement, has named David Shepherd as VP and corporate auditor.
Shepherdwill lead the company’s corporate audit department. He will responsible for the planning and performance of all financial, operational, compliance and information technology internal audits. He also will oversee the company’s internal control program.
Shepherd reports to Bonnie Malley, EVP and CFO, and the audit committee of Phoenix’s board of directors. He was most recently AVP, internal audit, at Lincoln Financial Group, and has more than 15 years of audit, financial reporting controls and risk management experience in the insurance industry.
“Dave brings a wealth of experience to Phoenix,” Malley said. “We are very pleased he is joining our company.”
