Vault, an insurtech providing personal lines coverage to the high-net-worth market, has hired Robert Ross as its CIO.

Ross last was CTO at Singapore Life. He also has worked at Citi and Microsoft. Ross is charged with expanding the company's tech team and upgrading Vault's digital policy administration and claims platform.

Vault reported $100 million in written premium in the 18 states it does business. It offers auto, homeowners, excess liability, and collections insurance through agents and digital distribution. It is based in St. Petersburg, Fla.

“Robert comes to Vault with a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and an impressive track record building and leading digital innovation at both new, fast-growing and market leading brands in the insurance and wealth management industries,” said Charles Williamson, co-founder and CEO of Vault. “There is no one better suited than Robert to help us continue to disrupt the personal insurance space with our modern, technology-first approach.”

Vault was launched in 2017. Shortly afterward, it received financial support from Allied World and Fairfax Holdings, which acquired a majority stake in the company. Those owners sold a majority stake to the private investment firm Cornell Capital and the asset manager Hudson Structured Capital Management in October of last year, though they remain minority owners.
