POLICY ADMINISTRATIONTwo insurance companies have chosen the same vendor for their commercial lines policy administration systems. Secura Insurance, Appleton, Wis., is implementing policy administration, integration and self-maintenance software from AQS Inc., Hartland, Wis. Secura will use the AQS/Advantage Suite for its commercial lines to streamline the underwriting processes and turn around new business and renewals more quickly. Capital Insurance Group, Monterey, Calif., is moving off its AQS legacy commercial policy administration to AQS' Web-centric policy administration solution. CIG will provide its 340 independent agents across the Western United States with the AQS/Advantage Suite.

WEB-BASED WORKERS COMP

Implementation is underway at Midwest Insurance Co., Springfield, Ill., of a commercial policy-processing suite from InsureWorx, Emeryville, Calif. Midwest is replacing its existing system with the Web-based Power-Comp Policy System to administer all of Midwest's workers' compensation business.

PHARMACY BENEFITS

TIG Specialty, an Irving, Texas provider of workers' comp and reinsurance coverage, is assigning its corporatewide workers' comp pharmacy benefits management program to Atlanta-based Cypress Care, a pharmacy benefits management provider. The move by TIG represents a consolidation of its work with multiple PBMs to one program.

RESIDENTIAL COST ESTIMATOR

Quincy Mutual Fire Insurance Co., Quincy, Mass., will use ISO HomeValue, a Web-based residential property replacement cost estimator, to strengthen its underwriting processes. The replacement valuation technology, which will be used by Quincy's 500 independent agents to provide improved insurance-to-value information, was developed by AIR Worldwide Corp., a Boston subsidiary of ISO, Jersey City, N.J.

REINSURANCE ADMINISTRATION

The Wilton Re Group (Wilton Re Holdings, Ltd., Prudential Select Life Insurance Co. of America (being renamed Wilton Reassurance Co.) and life reinsurer Wilton Re Bermuda, Ltd., has licensed the AdminServer reinsurance administration system from Admin-Server Inc., Chester, Pa. Wilton sought a rules-driven system that would support ACORD XML data standards, and which could be implemented rapidly through an outsourcing arrangement.

UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE CLAIMS SYSTEM

The State of New Jersey, Trenton, has selected Bermuda-based Accenture to develop and implement the New Jersey State Unemployment Compensation Claimant and Employer Service System (NJ SUCCESS), designed to modernize the delivery and administration of unemployment insurance benefits throughout the state. Under the four-year, $39.9 million contract, Accenture will integrate the New Jersey Department of Labor and Work-force Development's unemployment claims interfaces with its back-office document management systems to improve business processes and enhance service delivery.

END-TO-END CLAIMS

Donegal Insurance Group, a Marietta, Pa., group of companies providing full lines of personal and commercial insurance, has selected ClaimCenter from Guidewire, San Mateo, Calif., as the insurer's new claims processing system. ClaimCenter will support all lines of Donegal's business with end-to-end claim processing.

CONTENT MANAGEMENT

Global Hawk, Louisiana Medical Mutual Insurance Co., Marsh Saldana, ISMIE Mutual Insurance, UNICO American Corp., Austin Mutual Insurance Co., TransCal Associates, IMA Financial, Granite Insurance Services, RISC Inc., AAA South, Virginia Farm Bureau, Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, Risk Management Foundation, Piedmont Trans-portation, Atlantic American, Southern Risk Insurance Co., Agency Marketing Services, and Access Insurance Holdings have purchased content management solutions from ImageRight, a Conyers, Ga., provider of document management software.

WEB-BASED REINSURANCE ADMINISTRATION

IAT Reinsurance Company Ltd., Raleigh, N.C., has licensed Sapiens INSIGHT reinsurance administration software from Sapiens International Corp. N.V., Research Triangle Park, N.C. IAT GROUP will implement Sapiens INSIGHT for Reinsurance in Raleigh for all its group companies, including Occidental Fire Casualty Company of North Carolina, Wilshire Insurance Co., Acceptance Indemnity Insurance Co., Acceptance Casualty Insurance Co. and Harco National Insurance Co. Sapiens INSIGHT is a Web-based solution designed to streamline and reduce the cost of handling reinsurance through recovery automation and exposure management.

DATA WAREHOUSE DEAL

International U.K.-based health care organization BUPA has selected Dayton, Ohio-based Teradata, a division of NCR Corp., as its data warehousing partner. With 7.8 million customers in 180 countries, BUPA will implement a Teradata enterprise data warehouse to help reduce IT infrastructure complexity and costs, as well as improve customer service. The data warehouse will become both the central repository and analytical engine for all of BUPA's management, operational and customer information.
