XL Group Selects FirstBest Underwriting System

Insurance and reinsurance company XL Group Plc. has selected the Underwriting Management System (UMS) from FirstBest Systems Inc., a provider of insurance software solutions for insurance carriers, as its Global Underwriting Platform foundation. FirstBest says the strategic relationship includes integration, configuration and rollout of collaborative underwriting applications for all of XL’s business units, beginning with North America.

The company-wide initiative will give users a single underwriting desktop, says FirstBest, providing seamless access to third-party systems for pricing, risk management, legacy integration and reporting. The web-based UMS will enable XL to provide underwriting staff with support, intelligence and efficiency, as well as improved turnarounds for broker and client service.

FirstBest says the system will be integrated with multiple enterprise back-office systems, including policy administration, pricing spreadsheets, document management, and comprehensive risk analysis data – as well as CRM and broker management systems – to give underwriters a uniform user experience, regardless of underlying systems.
