AIG Names Compliance Exec

New York - American International Group, Inc. (AIG) today named Anastasia Kelly executive vice president, general counsel, and senior regulatory and compliance officer.
Kelly joins AIG from MCI/WorldCom where she served as the chief legal officer from 2003 until MCI/WorldCom's merger with Verizon early in 2006. Before that, Ms. Kelly was senior vice president and general counsel of Sears, Roebuck and Co., managing corporate legal policy and strategy.
Earlier, she served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Fannie Mae, and had been a partner and associate with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering. During her tenure at Fannie Mae and in her legal career at Wilmer Cutler, Kelly had extensive exposure to regulatory and compliance issues involving financial institutions and securities firms, reports AIG.
