Atrium to Use AIR Cat Solution

Atrium Underwriting Group Ltd., a specialist insurer and reinsurer at Lloyd’s of London, says it will use AIR Worldwide’s catastrophe modeling software to enhance the underwriting processes of Syndicate 609 and manage global catastrophe risk.

Syndicate 609 was created to specialize in marine risks, aviation risks, non-marine property, energy war, financial, political risks and terrorism insurance. Syndicate 609 is designed to largely write onshore and offshore D&F business, and rely on CLASIC/2, an application for companies that need to accurately assess catastrophe risk down to the individual location level.

“We were impressed by the diligent and detailed selection process that Atrium carried out over a period of several months and several lines of business,” says Yen Chin, business development executive at AIR Worldwide, London.
