Driveway Software, a provider of telematics solutions for the insurance market, has released its SmartUBI Platform, an insurance telematics platform that includes a smartphone usage-based insurance (UBI) application, and cloud-based analytics and portals.
Driveway says the SmartUBI Platform offers usage-based insurance market carriers a cost-effective and quick deployment solution through telematics. With the insured’s driving data and preliminary analytics in hand, combined with SmartUBI’s cloud-based analytics capabilities, the software is designed to enable insurers to determine individual driver risk scores to help make informed risk and premium decisions.
The platform and capabilities include a customized smartphone UBI app for the collection of driver data, says Driveway. The platform also includes preliminary analysis within the app to produce a driving score with guidelines customized for each carrier; driving data uploaded to SmartUBI cloud servers; and driving data, including scores, transferred from cloud servers to the carrier’s system via a carrier portal.
