EMCO Software, a provider of PC power management solutions, has released a new version of its EMCO Remote Shutdown software, compatible with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. EMCO Remote Shutdown is an automatic shutdown and Wake-on-LAN utility for Windows, designed to turn on and off remote PCs across a local network.
Remote Shutdown is PC power management software helps network administrators and IT professionals to manage network PCs remotely, says EMCO. The application also is designed to enable forcing log-off on remote PCs, activating hibernation, locking and unlocking input devices on remote PCs, displaying a text message, and switching remote PCs to the sleep mode. It includes integrated scheduling functionality to execute remote tasks on schedule.
EMCO says the new version is compatible with x86 and x64 versions of Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. The application can work on these platforms as well as on the previous Windows versions, and can manage remote PCs running Windows versions, from Windows XP through the latest versions of Windows released in 2012.
