Farmers Insurance Kelso Named Vice Chair of National Safety Group

Los Angeles — Farmers Group Inc. announced Kevin Kelso, EVP, was named vice chairman of the board for the Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), the property loss reduction trade association of the property/casualty insurance industry. Kelso also was named chair of the executive committee for IBHS.
 
Based in Tampa, Florida, IBHS counts among its members more than 200 property/casualty insurers and reinsurers. Its mission is to reduce the social and economic effects of natural disasters and other property losses by conducting research, and advocating improved construction, maintenance and preparation practices. 
 
"Farmers has long been one of the leading supporters of the research mission of the IBHS," Kelso says. "I am honored to be able to serve in the leadership of this group, particularly at this critical point in its development."

This is a two-year appointment for Kelso, effective Jan. 1, 2008.
 
Kelso has been president of Farmers Personal Insurance since 2002, and was made EVP of Farmers Group Inc. in January, 2007.
