FBM Idaho adds Guidewire portals for policyholders

Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho will adopt Guidewire Software’s Quote and Buy and Account Management Portals for policyholders, the companies announced Thursday.

The move adds to FBM Idaho’s long-standing relationship with the vendor, as it attempts to modernize core systems and enhance its online experience for customers. Last spring, the P&C insurer implemented Guidewire’s claims portal and data management service offerings.

“The increased business agility and improved customer service gained with the implementation of InsuranceSuite and Claim Portal for Policyholders were important factors in our selection of Quote and Buy Portal and Account Management Portal for Policyholders,” said Adam Waldron, chief information officer and director of Information Systems at FBM Idaho, in a statement. “We are excited about the added functionality we will be able to offer to our policyholders.”

FBM Idaho plans to finish implementation of the new portals for both its personal and commercial lines of business in 2018. The portals will enable FBM Idaho to offer customers more self-service capabilities, reduce call volumes by automating basic functions, and gather feedback and data on customer portal activity, the companies said.

The insurer joins Nationwide, Texas FAIR Plan Association, and Western Reserve Group as Guidewire’s latest portal customers.
