Fireman’s Fund Names New CIO

John Elliott has joined Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. as CIO. In addition to developing and implementing technology strategy to achieve business objectives, Elliot will oversee the enterprise architecture, infrastructure services, application services, and IT strategy and special projects teams. He will work closely with operations, Allianz Group partners and business leaders, the company said.

Elliott has more than 20 years of experience in in technology leadership, Fireman’s Fund said. Previously he was SVP and CIO for Aon Risk Solutions and ran the global IT program management office for Bear Stearns, where he also was head of the outsource and offshore program. Prior, he worked for McKinsey and Co. and was an active duty army officer.

Elliott earned a bachelor’s in mathematics from West Point, a master’s in mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master’s in computer science from New York University Polytechnic and a master of science in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
