Fireman's Fund Names Oliver Bussmann Chief Information Officer

Novato, Calif. - Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. has named Oliver Bussman as its chief information officer, according to Charles (Chuck) Kavitsky, chief executive officer.Bussman has many years of IT leadership experience in the banking, insurance and asset management industries. He will lead the implementation and delivery of the significant IT investment Fireman's Fund has made to improve its customer and employee experience and to its operational effectiveness.

"Oliver brings a blend of strategic and technical IT skills and a proven track record in project execution and customer service," says Kavitsky. "He has overseen the successful implementation of several large-scale change initiatives, making him an excellent fit for enabling Fireman's Fund to fully realize our IT vision."

Most recently, Bussman served with Allianz Group, of which Fireman's Fund is a wholly owned subsidiary. He comes from Allianz Germany where he was executive vice president, group information technology, responsible for global IT strategy, infrastructure, business applications, standardization and IT purchasing. He also led several IT efficiency initiatives for the Allianz Group.

Bussman joined Allianz in 2000 as managing director of IT for RCM Global Investors and Allianz Global Investors, based in San Francisco. Prior to joining Allianz, he served in key IT roles for Deutsche Bank AG and the retail banking division of IBM. He holds a master's in business administration from the University of Muenster, Germany, and has extensive additional business, technology and leadership education.

The appointment is effective April 3.
