Fred Hubbell Elected to ING U.S. Board of Directors

Fred Hubbell has been elected to the board of directors of ING U.S. He is the first independent director elected to the board and will serve as a member of the board's audit committee.

"Fred has had a long and distinguished career in the insurance industry and we will greatly benefit from his experience, knowledge and judgment."

From 2000 to 2006, Hubbell was a member of ING Group’s executive board. From 2004 to 2006 he was chairman of Insurance and Asset Management Americas for ING Group. He also was a member of the executive committee of Financial Services International for ING Group from 1999 to 2000, and served as president and CEO of the U.S. Life and Annuities Operations from 1997 to 1999. He retired in 2006.

Hubbell served as president and CEO of Equitable Life Insurance Company of Iowa from 1989, and from 1993 until 1997, when the company was acquired by ING Group, he was CEO and chairman of Equitable.

Hubbell currently sits on the board of directors of the Macerich Company, the board of visitors of the University of Iowa College of Business, the board of directors of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, and is chair of the board of trustees of Simpson College.
