Guidewire Bolsters Telematics Capabilities Through Partnership

Guidewire Software has partnered with Intelligent Mechatronic Systems (IMS) to offer insurance telematics services to core customers on a single platform, the company announced today.

IMS’ award-winning DriveSync connected car platform will help insurers increase policyholder engagement, reduce the frequency of claims and automate key processes, according to the companies. IMS' UBI enrollment Accelerator is now available for free for Guidewire PolicyCenter customers through Guidewire PartnerConnect. Additional features include incident detection, driver coaching and claims management.

The move comes at a time when core systems vendors are turning to partnerships and acquisitions to broaden their capability base.

“As insurance companies harness the power of insurance telematics, including UBI programs, we look forward to working with IMS to help ease the path to more tailored auto insurance offerings,” said Neil Betteridge, VP of strategy at Guidewire Software, in a statement.

Christopher Dell, senior director, product management and development at IMS added, “IMS can immediately enable insurance companies to realize the time and cost saving benefits of seamless Guidewire integration, while leveraging our extensive knowledge, expertise and experience for a quick path to market.”
