Donald Bailey has been named as the head of sales for Marsh’s U.S. and Canada division. In this newly created position, Bailey will be responsible for increasing the effectiveness and capacity of the insurance broker and risk management company’s sales team, executing the firm’s sales strategy and ensuring consistent processes and best practices are shared appropriately. He will report to Joe McSweeny, president of Marsh’s global sales organization.

“Driving profitable growth over a long-term period is a key tenet of our overall strategy, so we are delighted to bring in someone with Don’s leadership skills, knowledge and proven track record,” said Peter Zaffino, Marsh’s president and CEO.

Previously, Bailey was president of emerging businesses for Allstate Corp. In his 25 years in the insurance industry, Bailey has held senior leadership positions at Willis, including CEO of Willis HRH at Willis Group Holdings and CEO of Willis North America Inc. at Willis Group Holdings Public Ltd. Co. He earned a bachelors degree in economics from Allegheny College and an MBA from Eastern College in Philadelphia. He assumes his new responsibilities as of December 2 and will be based in New York.

“I am very excited by the opportunity to lead the sales team in this important region for Marsh,” Bailey said. “I look forward to helping further embed a world-class sales culture and enhancing the service and solutions we offer our clients.”
