Mutual of Omaha, United Concordia to Offer New DentaBenefits Plans

OMAHA, Neb., and HARRISBURG, Pa.-- Two leaders in the employee benefits arena -- Mutual of Omaha and United Concordia Companies, Inc. -- today announced a new line of dental insurance plans for employers of all sizes.

DentaBenefits leverages the unique strengths of each company to offer cutting-edge dental products that bring employers best-in-class plan design, networks, enrollment and administration.

United Concordia will be the exclusive underwriter for the DentaBenefits plans and will be responsible for underwriting, maintaining provider networks, claims handling and customer service.  Utilizing its nationwide sales and service team, Mutual of Omaha will be the exclusive marketer of the DentaBenefits line and will provide client service.

"We are proud to work with United Concordia to offer what we believe is one of the premier dental insurance plans available.  United Concordia has unparalleled experience in the dental insurance market and shares Mutual of Omaha's commitment to outstanding customer service," said Mutual of Omaha Executive Vice President Dan Martin.  "We believe that DentaBenefits draws on the strengths of each organization to offer a best-in-class product to employers throughout the nation."

"The similar cultures of each organization, along with Mutual of Omaha's exceptional brand and the strong growth potential for the DentaBenefit plans make this an exciting arrangement," said Tom Dzuryachko, United Concordia President and Chief Executive Officer.  "This agreement gives United Concordia additional distribution strength throughout the country and allows Mutual of Omaha to package DentaBenefits with their other employee benefit products."

DentaBenefits offers both employer-paid and voluntary options and replaces Mutual of Omaha's dental products in many markets.  Mutual clients in markets where DentaBenefits is available will be given the opportunity to transition to the DentaBenefits plan at their annual renewal dates beginning Nov. 1.

Mutual of Omaha began marketing the DentaBenefits plans on July 1, with effective dates for new sales beginning Sept. 1.

"The DentaBenefits plans are designed to bring to small and mid-sized employers features that were previously available only to the largest companies, such as one of the nation's largest dental networks with more than 62,000 dentists in 81,000 locations and extensive online customer tools," Dzuryachko said.
