NORTHBROOK, IL--Allstate is among the best companies for executive women according to The National Association of Female Executives (NAFE). Thirty companies were named to this list recognizing companies for their exemplary programs that promote the advancement of women in top positions. Allstate is the only Illinois based company to be recognized with this distinction.
"Women at Allstate and other companies on our list have better opportunities to succeed and have more significant responsibilities than in most corporate settings," said Dr. Betty Spence, NAFE president. "It is important that companies focus on succession programs that move women in major profit and loss roles of responsibility so that they can run operations and eventually become CEOs of major corporations."
At Allstate women make up 60% of the total workforce and 42% of the employees that hold managerial and officer level positions.

To be named to the NAFE Top 30 Companies for Executive Women, companies with a minimum of two women on the board complete a comprehensive application that focuses on the number of women in senior ranks (compared to men and to the company population), including questions about the programs and policies which support women's advancement.
NAFE identified key trends that were common among the Top 30 companies such as succession planning programs that identify and groom high potential women executives and flexible work options that ease personal responsibilities without impacting work load at the office.
