New Metaserver Solution Promotes Rapid, Business-Focused Approach to Integration

New Haven, CT--Metaserver, Inc., a leading provider of business process integration (BPI) solutions for the insurance industry, today announced the release of Metaserver 4.6.  The new release builds on Metaserver's rapid, business-focused approach to integration projects and includes several features designed to make it easier for insurance companies to transform data from agencies and service providers into the format required by underwriting, policy administration, and other insurance systems. Metaserver 4.6 also offers a number of enhancements that give organizations increased flexibility for incorporating business rules into the automated processes that orchestrate the interaction of multiple systems.

The new release introduces simple yet powerful new data transformation capabilities and also allows insurance carriers to handle extremely large XML schemas.  The ability to handle XML schemas is crucial because the insurance industry relies heavily on ACORD XML to transmit data in real time between producers, insurers, rating bureaus, service providers and more.  ACORD XML is named for the Association of Cooperative Operations, Research and Development, a nonprofit association that facilitates the development and use of standards for the insurance, reinsurance and related financial services industries.

New in Metaserver 4.6 are metascripts, which are reusable components that allow organizations with minimal performance overhead to add complex, customized business logic to any automated Metaserver process.  The New Haven-based company also has added more than 10 new capabilities to its "function palette" that is used when transforming data from its native format to a format required by another business application.  These new functions will help Metaserver's existing customers speed up the process of mapping and transforming data.  Another enhancement designed to accelerate the pace of integration work is the visual debugger, an innovative mechanism that alerts business analysts to erroneous data mappings while designing business processes.

"Our product consistently receives high marks for its reusable components, intuitive interface and business-friendly data mapping and transformation capabilities," said Nancy Esposito, Director of Software Engineering at Metaserver. "Metaserver 4.6 builds on these strengths that make it possible for our customers to deploy integration solutions that demonstrate concrete business value in remarkably short timeframes."
