New York Life Appoints VP in Office of Governmental Affairs

New York Life Insurance Co. announced that Nancy Davenport has joined the company as VP in the Office of Governmental Affairs, reporting to First VP Gayle Yeomans.
 
In this role, Davenport will oversee development and communication of the company’s strategies related to state and federal insurance regulatory modernization efforts.
 
Prior to joining New York Life, Davenport served as VP at JPMorgan Chase, where she was responsible for legislative, regulatory and political advocacy for the company in the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
 
Before that, she served as senior counsel and director of Northeast State Relations for the American Council of Life Insurers. She also served as director of the Assembly Minority Counsel’s Office in the New York State Legislature in Albany, and as executive director and counsel for the New York State Legislative Ethics Committee. Before serving in the New York State Legislature, Davenport worked in private practice and as an adjunct lecturer at Vassar College.
