The Hartford Promotes Gendreau to Replace Mucci

Hartford, Conn. — The Hartford Financial Services Group has promoted Ronald Gendreau to executive vice president in charge of its group benefits division. Gendreau was previously a senior vice president in the division, overseeing risk management and customer service. He replaces Dick Mucci, who is leaving the company to pursue a new opportunity.

In his new role, Gendreau will report to Liz Zlatkus, Hartford Life co-chief operating officer and president of The Hartford's International Wealth Management & Group Benefits division.

Gendreau joined The Hartford's group benefits division in September 2002 and was promoted to senior vice president in 2004.  In 2006, his role as director of the division's profit management and underwriting expanded to include customer service.  Prior to joining The Hartford, he was executive vice president of finance and risk management for the Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Co., Columbia, S.C.  Previously, he spent 19 years at The Travelers Insurance Co., St. Paul, Minn., where he held numerous pricing and product management roles in the individual life, health and annuity businesses.
