(Bloomberg) --Edison International Chief Executive Officer Pedro Pizarro said it is likely that the company's utility equipment could be found to be associated with the start of the deadly Eaton Fire absent additional evidence.

  • Edison isn't able to reasonably estimate a range of losses that may be incurred from claims resulting from the wildfire, Pizarro said during the company's third quarter earnings call
  • Edison confident that it would make a "good faith showing" that its conduct with respect to its transmission facilities in the Eaton Canyon area was "consistent with actions of a reasonable utility," Pizarro said
  • The state's wildfire fund administrator has confirmed Edison can access the insurance fund to pay claims from the Eaton fire.
  • Edison doesn't see needing to issue new debt or equity to cover losses from Eaton fire, Chief Financial Officer Maria Rigatti said on the call.
