Specialty insurer Hiscox has appointed Nicole Goodwin as chief underwriting officer for Hiscox USA. Goodwin will replace Gary Head, who will return to Hiscox's London office to as head of alternative distribution for the Hiscox Group.
Goodwin will be responsible for the continuing growth and expansion of Hiscox USA's portfolio of specialty risk solutions. Hiscox USA specializes in the needs of small and middle market businesses with less than $1 billion in annual revenue.
Most recently, Goodwin was head of U.S. claims. She joined Hiscox in 2004 as divisional counsel to the technology media and telecoms division, where she focused on products and services aimed at Fortune 250 technology and multimedia companies.
Previously, Goodwin practiced law in San Francisco, focusing on emerging technology, privacy and IP-related risk analysis and counseling for several domestic and Lloyd's of London- based specialty insurers, including Hiscox.
