Insurance Industry Vet Joins Novarica

Novarica announced that Martina Conlon, who recently served as senior manager of enterprise technology for Arbella Insurance, is joining the company. At Arbella, Conlon was responsible for core application development and maintenance, business intelligence and Arbella's agent and consumer Web presence.

This is the second expert who came straight from an insurance company to join the research and advisory firm. Late last year, Carnahan joined Novarica from Fireman’s Fund commercial lines’ division, where she served as VP of marketing, expanded online customer self-service capabilities, and took a leading position in formulating IT strategy.

Conlon, who has a broad range of experience in insurance technology as a senior executive and as a consultant, spanning property/casualty and health insurance, will bring her perspective on applications, data architectures and IT planning to Novarica's advisory clients. She will join the company as a principal, reporting to insurance practice director Matthew Josefowicz.

"Martina Conlon's experience in insurance applications and planning strengthens our existing offerings in these areas," says Josefowicz. “Her background in data architecture and health insurance technology expands our practice in areas that are increasingly important to our clients.”

Conlon also served as principal consultant with leading technology and consulting firms, where she partnered with client senior management to assess current business challenges and goals, current technology state and delivered strategic IT plans, architecture blueprints and migration strategies.

Novarica also announced that Elisbeth Maguda, most recently of Harvard University, joined the firm as a researcher, supporting both the insurance and wealth management teams.
