What’s different about the look and feel of the Aflac IT department?

We’re converting a lot of our facilities to have a more collaborative feel, not just a cube farm. And we’ve seen an impact on how people work at all levels, not just millennials. Also, I’m not just hiring people that have tech backgrounds too. We’re hiring a diverse organization not just demographically, but also with experience.

Has this had an effect?

When we worked on our One Day Pay project [to pay claims electronically faster[, we leveraged the agile method to leverage a faster speed of implementation. We took people and sequestered them together so they could make decisions quickly and adjust on the fly. It had a significant impact on the timeline. It has made it easier for us to transition other projects.
