Manulife Appoints First Chief Analytics Officer

Manulife has named Cindy Forbes chief analytics officer, a newly created role.

Forbes is responsible for expanding Manulife's analytical capabilities from both internal and external sources, and monitoring and introducing advanced analytics to the business, the company says. She reports to EVP and COO Paul Rooney.

"Analytics are fundamental to Manulife's customer-centric strategy and the overall improvement of our decision making," said Rooney. "Cindy will be responsible for building the Company's analytic capability and providing this information to our business leaders to enhance the Company's top and bottom line performance."

Before this appointment, Forbes was EVP and chief actuary for the company. Replacing her in that position is Steve Finch, who had been CFO of John Hancock Financial Services, Manulife's U.S. subsidiary.
